At this time it seems as though the timber market has stabilized. Lumber companies are out looking for timber and each seem to have a niche for their products. No one seems to be creating large inventories and are cutting what they buy. In general, Red Oak has come back to the point of being operable, with both domestic and export markets available. Cherry is not great, especially the lower grades, but it continues to sell.

If you decide to sell your timber, this is a much better time than last year. As an optimist I see timber continuing to slowly rise as our economy continues to recover.
